SiteBrief/Documentation

Audit Widget

Embed a branded free-audit form on your website. Visitors enter their URL and email, receive a full audit report, and you receive their contact details as a lead.

How it works

  • You paste one line of code on your agency website.
  • Visitors see a form with your logo, name, and brand colour — no SiteBrief branding visible.
  • They enter their website URL and email, then click "Run free audit".
  • SiteBrief runs a full audit (uptime, SSL, PageSpeed, security headers, SEO, domain expiry, blacklist).
  • The visitor receives the audit report by email.
  • You receive the lead in your SiteBrief dashboard under Audit Widget → Captured leads.

Setup

Go to Dashboard → Audit Widget. Copy your embed code — it looks like this:

<script src="https://sitebrief.net/widget.js" data-token="YOUR_TOKEN"></script>

Paste it anywhere on your website — footer, services page, homepage. The form appears automatically inside an iframe that resizes to fit its content.

💡
Tip:Click "Preview widget" to see how the form looks before embedding it.

Branding

The widget uses your agency branding from Settings:

  • Agency name — shown in the form header
  • Logo — shown next to the agency name
  • Brand colour — used for the "Run free audit" button

Update these in Settings → White-label. Changes apply immediately to the live widget.

Captured leads

Every form submission is saved to your dashboard as a lead with:

  • Lead's email address
  • Their website URL
  • Date submitted
  • Link to the full audit report

Go to Dashboard → Audit Widget to see all leads. The last 50 are shown.

What the audit covers

The widget runs the same checks as a full manual audit:

  • Uptime & response time
  • SSL certificate validity and expiry
  • Google PageSpeed score (mobile)
  • Security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, etc.)
  • SEO basics (title, description, H1, robots.txt, sitemap)
  • Domain expiry
  • Blacklist check
Is the widget free to use?
Yes — the Audit Widget is available on all plans including Free.
Will visitors see "Powered by SiteBrief"?
No. The widget only shows your agency name, logo, and brand colour. There is no SiteBrief branding visible to visitors.
How many leads can I capture?
Unlimited submissions. The dashboard shows the last 50 leads — all are stored and linked to their audit reports.
Can I embed it on multiple pages?
Yes — paste the same embed code on as many pages as you want. All submissions go to the same leads list.
What happens if the audit fails?
The visitor sees an error message and can try again. No lead is recorded for failed submissions.
